The 2018 Lincoln Navigator's Design Tells a Story

There are thousands of spoken languages across the planet, all of which convey idea, desires and emotions. Then there are unspoken languages, such as design, that aim to produce a response. Designers of the Lincoln Navigator paid attention to the first rule of all language, which is to know with whom you are speaking, endeavoring to respond to the wishes of luxury SUV customers.

According to Robert Parker, Director of Global Lincoln Marketing Sales and Service, "They (luxury customers) want a quiet vehicle; they want performance; they want improved fuel economy; they want accommodations that are unique."

So that's where Lincoln designers began. The exterior offers horizontal lines that travel from the headlamps to the tail lamps, bringing a sense of control and humanity to the large SUV. From the redesigned front grille that features the iconic Lincoln Star logo to the solid, confident stance, the entire exterior speaks to the vehicle's strong, yet elegant presence.

Inside, the team emphasized the need to maintain passenger and cargo space while still offering an abundance of interior amenities. To do this, the design team employed optional front row Perfect Position Seats, a second row that offers ample legroom and a reclining third row. All together, the 2018 Lincoln Navigator seats eight comfortably, while both the second and third rows fold flat at the push of a button to create plenty of cargo space.
